Our 6 step tutorial on how to create your own high-end looking galaxy print  pieces. We suggest you practice on an oldie before making your master piece but here it is our secret technique on a popular design. DIY Galaxy

What you will need:

  • Liquid Bleach
  • Dark Shirt
  • 2 Spray Bottles
  • White Fabric Paint
  • Toothbrush
  • Grapes, Pomegranates (or any other dark fruits)  or fabric paints
  • Sponge
  • Area To Bleach
  • Cardboard Width Of Shirt
  • Tape

[box_title ]First[/box_title]

Get a dark printed T-Shirt or Garment you wish to use (Black or Navy works best)

[box_title ]Second[/box_title]

Put The Cardboard inside of shirt separating the back from the front. This will allow the shirt from bleeding to have a professional finish. Now lay the piece in a designated area that you don’t mind getting bleach or paint on. Mask off any areas with tape  you don’t wish to get paint or bleach on (For example if you want the sleeves to stay solid or add a design do that now)

[box_title ]Third[/box_title]

Put pure liquid bleach in first spay bottle. Mix a cup of water into the 2nd spray bottle & add 2 cups of bleach

[box_title ]Fourth[/box_title]

Target an area of the shirt such as one of the top shoulder or bottom of shirt. This will be the center of the galaxy. Now spray with the bottle that is %100 bleach. Give it 2-3 sprays. Let it dry to see the color change. You do not want to over whiten it. Remember the sun or heat will also whiten it more down the road.  Now you will see a bleach nebula look start to appear. Go ahead and take the ins spray bottle with water added and spray other areas of the shirt such as the other shoulder or bottom to add contrast from the first spray.

Now take your fruit and mash it up and separate into different bowls. Cherries and Grapes works great but if you have fabric paint like green this will add nice contrast. Take your sponge and from the white center of the 1st spray work your way outward. Then work in other colors by blurring the different colors into layers.

[box_title ]Sixth [/box_title]

Take your toothbrush. Add the the white paint lightly to the brush. Now take your thumb and force the brush down so it flicks the paint onto the shirt.  Be careful you do not use too much paint or else it will glob onto the shirt and not look like a star. You will want to add the stars like a nebula so using a galaxy wall paper may help you during your creation. Now let the paint settle and dry while you view at your galaxy
